Maggie Otieno is Kenyan sculptor based in Nairobi. Her work in various materials in both 2D and 3D comprise of metal and wood. Her career spans 26 years practicing as a full time artist at her studio in Nairobi, Kenya. She has taken part in numerous exhibitions, workshops and residencies in Kenya, East African region, Algeria, Nigeria, Netherlands, USA, Egypt and UK.

I allow myself to be inspired by anything and everything. I use these inspirations to speak to the audience in a language that can be used to interpret my work. I occasionally allow my pieces to dictate to me through their unique materials, shapes and forms. I create out of passion and need to physically translate the voices and ideas in my head to real, tangible art forms.

Maggie's work captures social commentary and diverse experiences of human forms, evoking emotion and creating interactions and movement in abstraction.
She is fascinated and drawn by 3-Dimensional art pieces. "I appreciate works of art more when they can be seen in round even though recently I have allowed myself to explore 2D work.
