Rahab Shine
Rahab Shine is a self-taught artist. Her passion for art was ignited in 1990 upon meeting Shine Tani, who later became her husband. Together, they established the Banana Hill Art Gallery.
She has actively engaged in painting and has participated in numerous group exhibitions, both locally and internationally. Driven by her commitment to art, she has consistently endeavored to disseminate these skills and ensure that a wider audience can appreciate either the creative process or the final artistic outcome.
She is currently based in Banana, and her work is exhibited at the Banana Hill Art Gallery, as well as in exhibitions across Kenya and abroad.
Her artistic focus encompasses a select variety of themes. She is particularly drawn to the daily activities of women, such as busy women in active environments, seeking to capture the resulting combination of energies in paint.
More recently, her focus has expanded to include marine and urban scenes. These themes are visually compelling and have introduced a distinct look to her paintings. She has further advanced her exploration to address issues concerning life in slums and the environmental disasters that occur there, particularly during periods of heavy rain.
Rahab Shine has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
